Update – 06/28/2022

Hello!

We appreciate everyone for your kindness and patience since last November. We have made the final decision to close our business.

When we last updated in February, it is true that we have tried to reconstruct the business by getting in touch with contractors, but over the last few months (Feb. – May), discussing with several contractors and mechanical companies, no fair arrangements were made.

We also have personal struggles. Specifically, Gary has shoulder and back health problems that limits his ability. This was a main reason in our decision to let him rest and get the treatment that he needs in order to better his health.

Please know this was not an easy decision to make. This was a decision that was made after months of conversation and discussions.

During our 37 years of business, we have created new friendships and everlasting memories that we will cherish. We are very apologetic and grateful to our customers who have cheered us on and supported us throughout the years.

If there is any new news that come up, we will let you know.

Thank you,

Oriental Inn (Chang’s Family)

I am so sad to hear this news, but truly understand the need to take care of yourselves. I think we have all had new realizations coming out of the pandemic. Nathan and I wish you and your family all the best as you move forward. Hopefully closing the restaurant will bring new found opportunities to your family. I will miss your ma po tofu. It’s the best I’ve ever had. Thanks for bringing amazing Chinese food to Indianapolis.

So sorry to hear that Gary is having medical issues and I respect the decision to put his health first. That’s the most important thing. Yes, your food will be missed but you’ve made the right decision. Prayers for you and your loved ones.
